Robert Gordon University – Aberdeen Business School

At the Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University, placement is an invaluable part of many courses, with many students referring to this element as the highlight of their education. The main aim is for our students to develop key employability skills, build up practical, industryrelevant experience and relate the theory gained from University to the workplace, giving them a taste of what their future careers might be like. We have been extremely fortunate to work with Butler Search Group (BSG) since 2013, and now count them as one of our most supportive placement providers. To date, BSG has kindly hosted ten of our students studying BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management and BA (Hons) International Tourism Management in various five-star country clubs on the east coast of America. The service afforded to these students by both Rasheeda and Frank Butler is second to none. They support students through the initial interview stage, to assisting in obtaining their visas, arranging travel, and placing students according to their individual skills and experience to ensure they will receive an unforgettable experience, all of which makes my job as a Placement Officer very easy. Once the student is successfully placed, this support does not stop, as Rasheeda and her team are always available to mentor and assist the student every step of the way. Robert Gordon University is constantly rated in the top five for graduate recruitment in the UK, and this is primarily due to support received from such organisations as Butler Search Group. Rasheeda is very generous with her time, personally coming on campus to meet with our students at the start of each academic year. We are very thankful to BSG for their generosity and support of all our students, and we hope that this will become a long-standing and fruitful relationship. This is exactly the type of placement experience that our BA(Hons) International Hospitality/Tourism Students are looking for, one that will be invaluable in advancing their future employability within this industry sector.
